So I was having a terrible night, and then I remembered that willowbell linked to this one video that I couldn't watch earlier in the day because I was at work, and --

And, jeez, how does this guy even do it? I am feeling a lot more at peace right now. Also craving the fuck out of a Stéphane Lambiel: The Early Years fic, although I'm well aware that it would be mostly "blah blah blah, I was a middle child and I loved skating and especially the spins". I don't know. I just have such an interest in the way people were as kids and how they grew into the people they are now.

Also, his eyebrows.

I love that video SO MUCH. He's so cute and little and ADORABLE. He's a BABY and he's performing on international television and he does so WELL. Somewhere in America Johnny is just learning to jump on roller skates and my heart is growing three sizes.

Oh my god, this. *____________________* Like, I have this whole dearly held idea of Johnny and Stephane being old people to each other (in the sense of knowing each other from way back) but also being newly-in-a-relationship, and this is, like, one part of Stephane's past that Johnny hadn't known about, when he chances across the clip years later.

OH GOD. Someone should drabble/fic that. It would be saccharine (pure sugar!) but it would be so adorable. Stephane would be hiding his face in embarrassment, trying to block the screen, while Johnny is exclaiming, "What is this? When is this? You are so CUTE!" Then kissing and talk of adopting. Or something. (Probably not.)

As an aside: Being so new to figure skating that moment during Pop Star on Ice where Patti says people accused her of lying about Johnny having only a year or two of skating lessons in secret or something, I just sort of blinked and didn't think about it. The fact that Stephane had been skating for five or six years before going up against Johnny in competition and Johnny was regularly placing ahead of him, it's just crazy to me!

I can't stop staring at your icon despite the fact that this was emphatically not Stephane's maximum hotness phase. Maybe I should steal it.

He is the most adorable thing ever, OMG. He's so little and awkward and determined.

Also, HI! I friended you a couple of weeks ago without introducing myself, and then I dropped off the internet. I'm in full-on flail mode about Johnny and Evan and skating in general right now. But I'm probably flailing harder about Stéphane than I've ever flailed about anybody, so I'll probably do that here sometimes. I don't even know how to cope with the fact that he exists, and he keeps getting more adorable every time I see/hear one of his interviews.

That video is adorable. I loved the commentator going "he can skate!"

I would read the hell out of a early years fic. Especially following that interview with Stéphane and Surya where he talks about how to be an elite athlete in Switerland, you have to have really awesome parents. idk, I would just read both Johnny and Stéphane's parents being really awesome and supportive :/

RIGHT?? Apparently, Stephane's parents were a little taken aback when he said he wanted to skate, because it isn't a very masculine thing (lol understatement) to do, but now they are pretty awesome! (I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT VIDEO OF STEPHANE CRYING INTO HIS FATHER'S SHOULDER EXISTS. Unfortunately I have not been able to find this.)
