Hee, your description is far more adquate than mine. *hangs head* lol

I found that post so... it's mindboggling how much it applies to me, and I've never even known. Everything I have ever read (well, ok, 90%) has been set in the States or Europe. That means that when I try to write, I automatically create my world in one of those places.

Sometimes, I really have no choice; I doubt that writing about MCR traipsing through Nairobi would be very plausible/doable. Maybe I'm wrong, and it could be done, but I'm pretty skeptical that I could do it.

But, just in general, I've never tried to write anything that's set in my own country. Or even my own continent. Which leaves me with this horrible feeling in my stomach; I feel kind of ashamed of that fact. But I honestly never thought of it, my mind was just so used to writing about Western cultures and people.

This isn't to say that I hate the West or something. It's just... eye-opening.
