Today I met lemniciate, who is even lovelier in person (and she is pretty delightful online already) (seriously you guys, her accent is so cute!) (Jenn I am sorry for objectifying you). After lunch we ended up wandering through Covent Garden, ended up in Trafalgar Square where we sat on the bronze lions, and talked and talked and talked and talked. Although frankly... I have my doubts. Jenn (henceforth referred to as "'Jenn'") purports to live in London, but we got lost twice so we came to the conclusion that she wasn't really Jenn but an imposter instead. (Although I have no room to speak, because guess who turned up at Euston instead of Euston Square? Hahaha um.) And tomorrow we get to do it all over again! Plus kickingrad and oddishly! Life could not get any more perfect.

Dear assorted noblepeople on LJ: I am sorry for being such a shitty online friend lately! Normal services will resume in a while, meanwhile I encourage you all to switch servers and hang out with me on IRL.com instead. Which is to say, ♥

LOL I have lived in London for OVER TWO DECADES and I still left myself twenty minutes getting-lost time when I went out for dinner with ignipes last week. And was late anyway. /o\ The problem with being a Londoner is not that the city is unfamiliar, but that everywhere is KIND of familiar! So you end up all "I'm not lost! I've definitely been here before!" and then you're all "Yeah, this is the route to Chinatown! Um, unless it's the way to Covent Garden. Or Notting Hill. Or King's Cross. Uh. WELL IT'S FAMILIAR."

(I am so sorry I have not offered to hang out with you! I am massively jealous of all of you guys, but I go back to Cambridge on Friday and am being EATEN by dissertation until then. See you later on in term? :D? I promise not to mention having a friend at The Other Place if you don't.)

London is amazing! I was going to post with an incredibly smug "London is so easy to navigate!" until I, uh, got lost today. But seriously HOW MANY STATIONS DO YOU GUYS HAVE, that is also amazing. If you get lost you can always just walk till you find a tube and then hop on! \o/

LOL if you're sticking to tube stations then yes, it's very easy to navigate! It's once you have to get anywhere complicated from them that you realise that London is not one city. London is two cities that oozed into each other and then started eating the surrounding villages. And both of those cities and all of those villages have streetplans based on whichever way the cows wanted to go to market.

CITY DESIGNED BY COWS, OKAY. I was shocked the first time I went to New York and realised that a 'block' is an actual THING and not a weird foreign piece of crazy.
