and where is all the Cobb/Saito fic? EVERYONE HAS BEEN TALKING ABOUT THIS ARTHUR FELLA AND ALSO THAT EAMES FELLA but seriously, Cobb/Saito. I ship it.

(I also ship Ariadne/me, but, well, I am not expecting fanfic for that any time soon!)

PS. Spoilers in comments, you know the deal.

PPS. Also, you know what I hate? I hate it in action movies when there's the requisite scene with two white guys chasing each other through a marketplace in [insert foreign locale of choice] and there is much destruction. I just. /o\ Won't someone please think of the poor stallholders?

It's just so inconsiderate!

Cobb IS annoying! But on the other hand Saito is just that perfect combination of confused and manipulative and also, Ken Wantanabe. >:)

Cobb stayed to PERSUADE HIM TO COME BACK!

i approve of your reasoning! though how would you do it with mal completely dead is a beat beyond me.

saito/arthur/ariadne, on the other side...

Well, technically that was 'cause he needed Saito to make the important phone call and Saito couldn't do that if he was a vegetable. But if you're adamant, INCEPTION_KINK IS YOUR FRIEND.

I spent a long time trying to decide between Arthur/Eames and Arthur/Ariadne. Eventually concluded that whatever, the Arthur/ is the important point.

Threesomes are your friend!

The only thing I am really adamant about is Ellen Page/me.

Pfft, Ariadne/Me, Arthur/Me, Eames/Me, Robert/Me...I'm really not fussy when it comes to this movie ;)

The trouble with this film is that you can ship everyone. For whatever reason, I seem to be most swayed by Arthur/Ariadne. Which maybe have a lot to do with the fact that as soon as I realised that JGL and Ellen Page were in a film together I started mentally flailing and wishing them to have awesome, gorgeous babies together. But, yes. Arthur/Eames does appear to be the most popular ship (and I absolutely dig it), but there are so many other avenues to explore! I'm personally craving some Eames/Robert fic right about now.

From: [identity profile] extemporally.livejournal.com
Yes you can ship everyone! Or want to read lots and lots of gen, either way. :D

Oh, Arthur/Ariadne is absolutely great too -- they are v compatible! Mostly I want them to appear in an indie movie together, do not judge me. /o\

I want them to appear in an indie move together tooooo.

When Arthur/Ariadne actually happened in the film I almost pinched myself just to make sure I hadn't made it up because I'd been sitting there going 'oh gosh, those two need to get married' but it was real :D

Shipping everyone/gen is so the way to go.

You have no idea how relieved I was ten minutes into the movie when I realised neither of the pair the internet had told me to ship was Leonardo DiCaprio. Just. That weird little facial hair thing. I can't even /o\

What about Saito/Fischer? Client and Mark, that's got to be good for something, right? Plus Fischer kind of charmed me.

Date: Sunday, 1 August 2010 12:22 (UTC)
From: [identity profile] extemporally.livejournal.com
Oh, Fischer was very charming! I approve of this ship choice.

The facial hair thing is kind of an impediment, I agree. Also, Cobb's kind of boring.

From: [identity profile] preromantics.livejournal.com
I ship like, everything in this movie, but COBB/ARTHUR AND ARTHUR/ARIADNE, ugh, I was writing this really crazy thing post-movie where (assuming Cobb gets stuck in a dream, whatever, CHRISTOPHER NOLAN FUCK WITH MY HEAD MORE, PLEASE) Ariadne and Arthur had a thing that wasn't really a thing and Ariadne felt super guilty over Cobb, and Arthur always sort of had a thing under the surface with him and so they go TO SAVE HIM. OR SOMETHING.

Basically I chose the most complicated way to get to awesome threesome sex ever. So far I've pretty much just written Inception porn and then I forget to finish it, sighsigh.

I, too, felt sorry for the stallholders during that scene. But, um, at least if it was all a dream, they were only projections? :D? :D? ... :(

I came out of the movie shipping Arthur/Eames (banter and pigtail-pulling!) and Ariadne/Cobb (seriously, she was so concerned about him and desperately needed him to forget about his dead wife) the most, but really, I am equal opportunity shipper. Cobb/Saito, yes! Cobb/Arthur, yes! Arthur/Ariadne, yes! Eames/Fischer, yes! These are all arguably the most supported by the text, but I think there are a lot of other ~plausible combinations that could happen, too -- Ariadne/Arthur/Eames, Ariadne/Arthur/Cobb, Ariadne/Eames, Arthur/Eames/Cobb, Saito/Cobb/Arthur, Saito/Arthur, Saito/Eames, Saito/Ariadne, Saito/Fischer, Fischer/Arthur/Eames, Fischer/Ariadne, Yusuf/Arthur, Yusuf/Cobb, Yusuf/Ariadne, Ariadne/Cobb/Mal, Ariadne/Mal, Cobb/Mal/Arthur... Just about anything, really. They're all so very shippable!
