Growing up in Singapore seen through the eyes of Yong - dealing with the death of his grandmother, upheavals in his family, run-ins with the neighbourhood gang leader, etc. I liked this! Sweet and sharply written. )

Rebecca, by Daphne du Maurier.

I am not sure how I felt about this! Also I talk about the Brontes a lot. \o? )
