Thursday, 6 January 2011 15:25I've been feeling a bit gloomy over the past couple of days, and so in between revision I have been reading books (well, it used to be HP fic, but then I sort of got bored). Two of these were my sister's!
Man Walks Into A Room, by Nicole Krauss.
( I preferred The History of Love? This was quite good though, and she has amazing powers of description. )
Marie, Dancing, by Carolyn Meyer.
( Amazing, amazing novel about one of Degas' models. AMAZING. I recommend this if you're into YA, and also if you're not. )
Mao's Last Dancer, by Li Cunxin.
( Autobiography about ballet dancer who grew up in the Cultural Revolution. Much as it's possible to judge people's life narratives (this is a personal hang-up, I mean), this is good? Uh. )
How To Be Good, by Nick Hornby
