I STILL HAVE FOUR BOOKS TO REVIEW
Tuesday, 22 May 2012 23:47and an essay crisis but. The last couple of days have not been so great, you all. They have been... not so very great. There was the going to a musical to support a friend and being smacked in the face and gut with the most racist shit I have seen in a very long time, and transphobia fail on Facebook, and people being Islamophobic and racist in a feminist meeting. And I do not want to make everything all about me, except for maybe the first, but it wears you down, you know? As to the last I've just FB messaged the person in question being like 'I hope you don't think I left early because we disagreed, let me try to understand, here are some articles that hopefully show where I'm coming from', and I hate that I'm even coming at this from a position of moral equivalence because FUCK.
I'M NOT THAT UPSET THOUGH HONESTLY. I just wanted to say that if I failed in any way or said anything to make any of you upset, you all would call me out on it right? Like - some of you have done that before, both privately and publicly, and I want to say that I'm so so grateful for being called on my failings. Because really: while I hope people in general feel comfortable approaching me on any kind of failyness concerned, it is pretty difficult to call someone out in general. And if so, how can I make this process more comfortable?
