fic: An Arrangement of Convenience: or, Dirty Love

Once upon a time, [livejournal.com profile] alex_boylove and I met on Gchat and proceeded to tell each other* a Johnny/Evan story. Then it got cleaned up and posted!

* by which I mean, Alex did all the heavy lifting, and cleaned it up after to boot. But look! My name is on there too!

So if Johnny/Evan and slapping is your thing, you might want to Check It Out. For it is brilliant!

Hi there,

I'm curious. I knew about Chinese names being family name then first name, is this really the case with Japanese ones also? I think I thought that they were given name then family name. Do I have this wrong??

Hi, it's family name-given name for most East Asian cultures! This would include Japan, Korea and China. I'd say all, but I'm not sure about Vietnam or Mongolia, so...

actually...

On checking Wikipedia -- the ordering of Japanese names seems to be a little more complicated, so I suppose 'Mao Asada' has more precedent than, say, 'Yu-Na Kim'. The traditional way is still family name first, though. Thanks for asking, anon! I learnt stuff. :)
