But I just feel really aware of the shabbiness of them too, and I don't mean this in a bad way, just, well -- aliens and history at the same time stretch my suspension of disbelief a little too much. Which ahahaha oh self.

I watched this episode with my mother, and then I gave her my Mother's Day present. I feel a Little Bit smug at how much she liked it. Happy Mother's Day to the mums on my flist! ♥

RIGHT?? Idk, I get the idea that this season is consciously reworking a lot of the tropes we've seen so far in the show -- useless boyfriend turns out to be pretty awesome, and older villainous woman is morally ambiguous and shit! I mean, I'm not saying it's perfect, but it's hell of a lot more interesting than it used to be.
