The idea that each one of them has what the other wants, desperately, and both of them have this sort of giant gaping lack. This is exactly what I love about them! (I was actually just talking to Li yesterday about a scene in which Johnny is mad because Evan doesn't sleep enough and Evan is mad because Johnny isn't eating properly. Because they should look after each other!)
