Johnny and Stéphane are harder than Johnny and Evan because they're less outrageous, I think. And because both of them seem really fragile to me. They don't beat each other up for fun. But I love reading them as friends (and as lovers).

Johnny would wear girl's underwear in a HEARTBEAT. He might not even recognize that as a thing.
