DAISUKE WOULD BE SO EMBARRASSED OMG! Nobunari smirks at him something terrible, and Shizuka -- why is Shizuka around? Who cares, I LOVE SHIZUKA -- smiles at him patiently when he says, "It's not like that!" Shizuka has so much experience when it comes to gay dudes working out their feelings for one another.

Meanwhile, Daisuke and Stephane confide in each other, only taking breaks to allow Stephane to make funny faces at the camera.

The possibility of Kumakawa and Stephane being in the same room is almost too great for me to contemplate.

BUT YES Shizuka and Nobunari! And Mao-chan as Daisuke's BFF and Miki being reluctantly fascinated despite Morozov sucking out her soul! And Stephane would be the only one who UNDERSTANDS Daisuke's feelings, and they'd giggle at each other about how Kumakawa's eyes penetrate like fairies at the dusk of a rainy day or whatever!

Daisuke is trying very hard to be manly, but it's difficult when Stephane is there grabbing his hand and telling him it's okay to blush!

Then Kumakawa holds a master ballet class for adults, and OF COURSE Daisuke has to sign up. Of course. To provide him with some moral support, Stephane and Mao join in, too.

I feel like there should be a scene where Kumakawa inadvertently hurts Daisuke's feelings, and Daisuke tries really hard to be stoic but then Stephane just cries and cries because of how tragic it all is. I don't know why this scene would exist , but I want it. *__* (confession: i am terribly terribly amused by Stephane's crying /o\)

BUT OMG STEPHANE AND MAO AT KUMAKAWA'S DANCE CLASS. Someone needs to write this fic ftlog. *_____*

That one video of him flat out wailing on his dad's shoulder fills me with GLEE. I don't know why, I am not usually like this! But then Stephane starts talking about how his special Olympics memory from Torino is crying alone on a bridge and I'm just all *lol foreverrrr*

Perhaps Kumakawa inadvertently insults Daisuke's skating! Not like in a "lol I could totally do an Octo, please." way, but in a srs bsns "you are wasting your time on this sport" way, because he is Kumakawa and he talks shit like that. And then Stephane would cry and Mao would threaten to beat Kumakawa up until Kumakawa begged for forgiveness! And then Daisuke would forgive him and call him Tetsuya for the first time, and Stephane would cry again at how beautiful it all was! And then they could go on Japanese game shows again and fanboy each other until the end of time. Or something else less stupid, idk.

GOD YOU ARE SO RIGHT. Kumakawa just doesn't get it! He's doesn't like figure skating -- he can see how artistic it is, yes, but then what is the point of ascribing mathematical scores to art? Then Daisuke brings him to an ice show, and well. Kumakawa just finds more to mock in the overproduced cheesiness of it all, and the audience gets too noisy for his liking.

After the show Daisuke's all :D? :D? and Kumakawa's face darkens and he says, well, if you'd started ballet fifteen years ago or even ten years ago you might have done something with your life, but now it's obviously too late. And Daisuke's like, oh -- oh. I see. :(

Oh my goddddd fix it ;________; Obviously Daisuke goes and not!cries at Stephane and Shizuka, but how does Kumakawa get his head out of his ass?

Oooh maybe someone (maybe Mao, maybe Stephane, maybe BOTH) makes him watch some of Daisuke's awesome artistic programs like Hip Hop Swan Lake and R+J and gives him a heartfelt speech about how the beauty of skating is in finding a way to create magic through the rigid rules? Or maybe something else, like somehow Kumakawa happens on Dreams on Ice while channel surfing and sees how gorgeous and awesome Daisuke's skating can be when he's not competing! EITHER WAY it involves him begging for forgiveness and possibly Daisuke teaching him to skate.

I vote BOTH!! I feel like any intervention would be carried out unknown to Daisuke -- like, he would be HUMILIATED at the thought of needing anyone to stand up for him -- so Mao just stays after their last masterclass and says, you're wrong about all of us. About this. Skating. And, well, Kumakawa had been very sure about ballet being better than skating, ballet being better than anything else, but it's hard to talk back or snort derisively when Japan's Olympic silver medallist's looking up at you and staring very hard.

ALSO KUMAKAWA AND SHIZUKA TOTALLY KNOW EACH OTHER, y/n? They went to school together or something! I do not know what to do with this information, TELL ME WHAT HAPPENS.

YES, Daisuke would totally disapprove of any and all interventions. This all conveniently occurs right before their last lesson, and of course Daisuke doesn't show up. Stephane and Mao do, and Stephane just shoots him woeful, meaningful glances the entire time while Mao elbows him. And THEN Mao stays after class and stares him down and gives him a DVD of the Best of Daisuke or Dreams on Ice or something.

YES. Maybe Shizuka took classes at his ballet company when she was skating, or maybe we can de-age him and have them take ballet classes together! Skaters totally take ballet classes! And he totally had this reputation as a primadona ballerina, but he was always really nice to Shizuka when one of her injuries was acting out and she KNOWS he secretly has a heart of gold behind all the arrogance and superiority. So she keeps telling Daisuke to cheer up while he is sad about Kumakawa, and OH maybe she encourages Mao to go to Kumakawa and yell at him in the first place!

YES YES YES. Shizuka being the elder sister of the Japanese skating scene, THAT IS ALL I HAVE EVER WANTED FROM LIFE! She doesn't talk to Kumakawa because she knows that it's not her thing, and it wouldn't be that effective coming from her -- but she cheers Daisuke up, telling him, "Kumakawa-san is just extremely stubborn and focussed, Daisuke. You musn't take his words to heart."

I want a Best of Daisuke DVD, oh man. :( Do you think Mao and Stephane put it together themselves??

YESSS they definitely edit it together. and lolololol now I am imagining Stephane narrating a Best of Daisuke DVD. "Look at his arms! They are flowing like a lilting song of the bird by the river! And oh, his jumps! His spins are not as good as mine, of course, but they are still smooth like morning dew! Oh, it is so beautiful!" And Mao would be all "....okay?"

Big sister!Shizuka is my FAVORITE. Oh and also, this should have some sort of Stephane/Shizuka or Stephane/Shizuka/Johnny subplot, y/n?

Eventually Mao persuades him to take out all the voiceovers -- "It'd be better if we let his skating speak for itself, don't you think?" And they drop it in Kumakawa's locker OR SOMETHING. Kumakawa watches! And is overcome! And he totally looks up Daisuke and goes all, "I'm sorry I said all those things about skating -- your skating, especially, is beautiful," all the while operating under the assumption that Daisuke was the one who gave him that DVD. And Daisuke's like, "um... okay?"

Also, there should be a mention of Yu-Na and her girlfriend going on vacation together, because I am a self-indulgent bastard.

I think you know where my tinhatting alliances lie normally, BUT YET I would vote Stephane/Shizuka here because I cannot see Stephane/Shizuka/Johnny working! TELL ME ALL ABOUT IT.
